The book is written by Kenn Tarbensen and Kristian Buhl Thomsen, who tells the story of 27 industrial heritage sites localized in the town centre of Aarhus.

All the old industrial buildings have preserved a good part of their originality until today, which in the book is describes through text, drawings and an extensive material of photos. For the reader it is especially of interest to follow the discussions concerning preservation and to see examples that show, how old buildings have been transformed and been given new life through a new use. Simultaneously a detailed map encourages the reader to go for a walk through the city to see the industrial heritage sites.

Søren Bitsch Christensen has edited the book and has written a comprehensive introduction that connects the two authors 27 articles.
